So you have a new member of the family…Congratulations. Now when do you start training every one asks? And my answer never changes any madder what breed of dog you have. NOW as soon as you get home start with crate training it’s the only way to get them potty trained. Next don’t let them Rome free around the house there not ready yet. Unless you like cleaning your carpets every day and replacing your rugs drapes chair leg etc…..  One of the worse trait all dog have which is a blessing and a curse all in one .Is they grow up so fast that they look full grown in size but their minds are small there not ready to be left alone yet there just not ready they will let you know when they are trust me.

Start with a name that has two syllables its easier for them to learn but they will adapt if it’s only one or four. If you don’t want them to jump on you stop careering them around let them walk put them on a leash you say they don’t like the leash WHO’S in charge here? Now I’m not saying be mean but be stern all living thing need Love Discipline and Love. It’s called tough love if you’re a push over and let everybody use you don’t get a dog.  Let’s face it you’re a cat person. Don’t be ashamed their great animals too they don’t need a lot of attention, you don’t like them tearing up stuff! Just get them declawed. Problem solved. And their supposed to go in the house right in a box how cool is that.

If you just stick with the basics come , sit, stay, lay down you can have a perfect dog. You don’t need to have them advanced but if you want to you can. Your dog can become so smart it’s scary. I mean can you imagine loosing you sight relying on your safety from a dog? Or the parent not knowing when their child is going to have a life threatening  seizure but a dog will let them know before it happens amazing simply amazing.

Dogs are wonderful animals they love to please so enjoy your new puppy or rescue dog but don’t give up on them you can do it. Give us a call with our help we can get through this. Remember everything you imagine your dog can become can happen… it just takes a little time and patients.  Will help you get started in the right direction.
